Ballad of Crowborough

Does your hart burn when I’m not there?
Will that fire not disappear?
Licking tongues at your hart
Flames want to tear it apart?
“Do you want to be acknowledged or accomplished?”
I said and looked straight
Into her eyes
And I knew what pain was
And I knew what pain was
I just didn’t feel it
“Do you believe in things you can not see?”
“Like a lover’s smile
After it’s gone?”
“Can a hart that lost too many battles
Before it begun
Turn to stone?”
What good is the truth after it’s gone?
A man that can control his hart will know
what pain is
what pain is
He just can not feel it
